Pink clouds and blue light on landscape, created by blue sky after sunset, reflect on water in flooded salt flats during 1998 El Nino weather event, Death Valley Wilderness Area, Death Valley National Park, Mojave Desert, California. This area is normally dry salt bed. The pure white salt pan can be seen in the middle where the water has not covered it. Annual average rainfall is 1.4 inches. This particular year an all time record breaking 5.4 inches of rain was recorded.
